Amanda Balionis has stepped back from her busy routine to post pictures of her recent getaway on social media for her followers.
CBS Sports journalist Amanda Balionis is stepping away from her on-air responsibilities for a much-needed break. Currently off-duty, the 39-year-old, who has experience reporting on the PGA Tour and NFL, is taking a break from work and not hosting this weekend’s sports schedule.
She offered a sneak peek of her perfect beach escape, seen in the Instagram photo she posted for her followers, with the caption “discovered paradise.”
Balionis, who joined the CBS team in 2018, has rapidly become a well-known figure among sports enthusiasts. Despite enjoying her new role in the NFL, fans of golf keep asking on social media, “When will you return to golf?”
Her most recent post, glowing from the sun, came on the same day that Rory McIlroy marked a turnaround in his troubled year by winning two trophies in Dubai. McIlroy experienced challenges throughout the year, particularly during the US Open, where Bryson DeChambeau claimed victory in an exciting finish.
However, the golfer also experienced highs and lows in his personal life when he and his wife Erica Stoll first declared they were separating before deciding to reconcile a few weeks later. During this time, baseless gossip connected McIlroy to Balionis, despite the lack of proof for these allegations.
After his victory on Sunday, McIlroy openly showed his emotions by embracing Erica and their daughter Poppy. Filled with emotion, he expressed: “Yeah, It holds great significance.” I have experienced many challenges both professionally and personally this year. It seems like the perfect conclusion to 2024.
“I’ve really pushed through this year, you know?” Narrowly missed accidents. Was unable to complete it… Very satisfied with my performance and grateful that I was able to persevere through a challenging day and complete the task.
