On Tuesday evening, Israel was targeted by missiles launched from Iran after the Israeli military entered southern Lebanon and engaged in conflict with the Hezbollah group backed by Iran.

The operation came after intense air strikes that destroyed Hezbollah’s leadership, resulting in the death of long-serving chief Hassan Nasrallah in Beirut last week.

In addition to the 1,000 Spaniards living in Lebanon, Spain has led the United Nations’ Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) and stationed 650 soldiers along the southern Lebanese border with Israel, starting in 2022
