Bryson DeChambeau shares what he misses most about PGA Tour after LIV Golf move

Bryson DeChambeau has been a participant in LIV Golf for more than two years, during which time his career has flourished significantly following his departure from the PGA Tour in 2022.

Bryson DeChambeau has expressed his deep longing for the tournaments he won in the United States since his departure from the PGA Tour to join the financially rewarding LIV Golf league.

The powerful American golfer, who made the switch to the contentious Saudi-backed LIV Golf two years prior, encountered consequences when his membership with the PGA Tour was suspended.

DeChambeau has been focused on the future since joining the rebel series, not dwelling on the past. He has already secured a couple of individual LIV titles and the 2023 Team Championship, along with an impressive round of 58 and his second major victory at this year’s U.S. Open.

However, even with these new achievements, DeChambeau admitted to feeling a sense of nostalgia for the PGA Tour events where he once excelled. In a conversation with Bob Does Sports, he shared, “What I miss the most about the PGA Tour are the tournaments I’ve attended and won.”

I truly value the positive influence we can have within the community. For instance, during the Shriners Hospital for Children Open in Las Vegas, I had the opportunity to win the event. Following my victory, I dedicated time to assist the children and engage in various activities with them. This experience was immensely enjoyable for me.

The ongoing divide between the PGA Tour and the emerging LIV Golf may be beginning to resolve, as reports indicate that executives are in discussions with the Saudi Arabian sovereign wealth fund to negotiate a potential agreement. Since the proposal for a resolution was introduced in June, conversations have been ongoing.

More than 15 months have passed, and players such as DeChambeau are still awaiting permission to rejoin the PGA Tour, as no agreement has yet been finalized. The captain of the Crushers team has expressed his eagerness for a ‘merger’, stating during the LIV Mayakoba event in February: “You will continue to see both organizations expand, and I hope that eventually we can reunite.”

It’s essential for this to take place. I really hope that everyone can set aside their differences and come together to find a solution, as that would benefit both the game of golf and its fans overall.

As I mentioned before, any extra investment in golf is a good thing. I’ve always believed that. It might not align perfectly with our expectations, but I’m confident that over time, things will stabilize positively for everyone involved.

Last month, DeChambeau reiterated these sentiments. When asked about his initial actions as LIV commissioner, he told Golf.com: “I think I would reach out to the PGA Tour and say, ‘We need to sit down and resolve this agreement between the two tours right away’.”
