Legendary golf commentator burns Tour pro for walking out on The Open

During the second round of The Open Championship, golf commentator David Feherty criticizes DP World Tour pro Romain Langasque for withdrawing from the tournament.

David Feherty, the renowned golf commentator, criticized DP World Tour professional Romain Langasque for his decision to withdraw from The 152nd Open Championship during the second round.

Langasque, aged 29, exited the tournament at Royal Troon while playing on the 8th hole.

The French player mentioned a back injury as the official explanation for withdrawing from the last major tournament of the season.

Langasque started his second round with a bogey, but quickly recovered with a birdie on the 2nd hole.

The golfer experienced a setback when bogeys occurred at the 4th, 5th, and 7th holes.

Following that, the one-time DP World Tour winner mishit his wedge shot on the short par-3 8th.

His ball landed in the fescue grass just short of the green.

He then hit his second shot thin from that position.

As the ball continued its path, Langasque removed his cap and greeted the officials along with his fellow players CT Pan and Yuto Katsuragawa.

“He struck it a tad too heavy,” commented Ryder Cup veteran Sam Torrance from the commentary box as he observed Langasque preparing for his chip shot on the 8th hole.

The player’s performance seems to be struggling once again. He is currently 3-over par and appears to be playing in a rushed manner.

John Morgan commented that he tends to get easily frustrated.

When asked about Langasque’s WD during ‘The Pat McAfee Show’, Feherty didn’t hold back and directly criticized the French golfer.

“Well first of all, that guy’s French,” said Feherty.

“You know? So what else are you gonna say?”

The comment drew laughter in the studio.

“Nothing else needs to be said,” replied McAfee.

Langasque became the fourth player to pull out of The Open this week, following Sebastian Sodeberg’s withdrawal due to injury before the tournament began on Wednesday.

Langasque withdrew from The Open on Friday, joining major champions Ernie Els and John Daly.
