Scottie Scheffler arrested by cops ahead of PGA Championship Round 2 at Valhalla

World number 1 Scottie Scheffler shocked golf fans around the world after he was arrested for attempting to drive past a police officer into Valhalla Golf Club.

The announcement arrives prior to the second round of the 2024 PGA Championship at Valhalla Golf Course. ESPN journalist Jeff Darlington revealed the news on X during the early morning hours of Friday. He shared:

”Breaking News: World No. 1 golfer Scottie Scheffler has been detained by police in handcuffs after a misunderstanding with traffic flow led to his attempt to drive past a police officer into Valhalla Golf Club. The police officer attempted to attach himself to Scheffler’s car, and Scheffler then stopped his vehicle at the entrance to Valhalla. The police officer then began to scream at Scheffler to get out of the car. When Scheffler exited the vehicle, the officer shoved Scheffler against the car and immediately placed him in handcuffs. He is now being detained in the back of a police car.”

Scottie Scheffler, the Masters champion, made his return to the PGA Championship this week, only a few days following the birth of his child.

The top-ranked golfer in the world concluded Round 1 of the competition in T12 position, scoring -4. He commenced the tournament with an impressive Eagle on his initial shot.

Scheffler will be playing alongside Wyndham Clark and Brian Harman for the initial 2 rounds of the Major.
