Rory McIlroy reportedly files for divorce with wife Erica 7 years after tying knot

Rory McIlroy has allegedly initiated divorce proceedings against his spouse Erica, marking the end of their seven-year marriage. As per a recent report from TMZ, the professional golfer from Northern Ireland filed for divorce in Florida on Monday, May 13. The media outlet stated that he had formally submitted the necessary legal documents to the court. Nevertheless, the exact cause for their separation remains undisclosed.

In 2017, McIlroy tied the knot with Erica and they joyfully welcomed their daughter Poppy in 2020. Their love story began in 2012 during the Ryder Cup, where Erica was working for the PGA Tour.

Interestingly, at that time, McIlroy was in a relationship with tennis superstar Carolina Wozniacki. Although they were engaged, they eventually called off their plans.
