DeChambeau Delivers On A Bizarre LIV Adelaide Bet – His Autographed Socks!

It has to be one of the more bizarre bets in professional golf.

An Australian spectator at the second installment of the LIV Adelaide managed to impress former US Open champion Bryson DeChambeau while he was practicing on the putting green during Saturday’s second round at the Grange course in Adelaide.

DeChambeau attracted a considerable number of spectators while he focused on improving his putting skills after a successful round of four-under 68.

The spectators, who appeared to be having a great time watching the game, started requesting DeChambeau for autographs. But DeChambeau playfully joked with them, saying: “I’ll sign your hats only if I sink this 10-footer. And if I miss, what’s the deal?”

A fan, sporting a cowboy hat reminiscent of Texas, exclaimed: “I need your socks!”

DeChambeau seemed to be thoroughly enjoying the interaction, as he couldn’t help but break into a wide grin and exclaimed, “Sure, I’ll hand over the socks!”

DeChambeau positioned himself behind the ball as the crowd erupted into loud chants and started banging on the signage along the fence separating them from the players.

The smooth, downward putt had a promising start, but eventually veered a few inches past the left side of the cup. True to his word, DeChambeau promptly removed his shoes and autographed white socks, which he then handed over to a lucky fan. As this fortunate individual received the socks, those around them began to bow to DeChambeau with outstretched arms, chanting his name: “Bryson! Bryson! Bryson!” DeChambeau, holding his shoes, proceeded to walk barefoot into the clubhouse. As he approached the steps leading to the clubhouse, he encountered Dustin Johnson, who inquired about his barefoot stroll. “I lost my socks in a putting contest,” DeChambeau explained.

DJ inquired, “Did you have to hand over your socks to someone?”

DeChambeau admitted, “I failed to make the putt because someone actually requested my socks.”

“That’s absolutely disgusting,” someone exclaimed. Then they asked, “Did you actually sign them?”

“Yep … “

Congratulations Bryson! It was a delightful experience engaging with your Australian supporters.

Though the question that has to be asked will the lucky socks-winning punter get the items framed as they are, unwashed!
