Report: Tyrrell Hatton to get $63 million to leave PGA Tour for LIV Golf

Tyrrell Hatton is listed among the 80 golfers in the field this week at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, the second signature event on the PGA Tour’s 2024 schedule. He was one of 11 to be playing the event for the first time.

However, it is uncertain whether Hatton will be participating in the festivities at the Monterey Peninsula. A recent report by James Corrigan in the Telegraph states that Hatton has decided to leave the PGA Tour and join LIV Golf, inking a deal worth $63 million. It is said that he will be making his LIV debut this week alongside Jon Rahm’s team in the season opener in Mexico. The Mayakoba event is set to kick off on Friday.

Interestingly, Hatton had just committed to the WM Phoenix Open five days ago. However, if the report is accurate, he will be joining LIV in Las Vegas for the Super Bowl weekend instead of returning to TPC Scottsdale during the same time.

The dynamic duo of Rahm and Hatton showcased their skills at the 2023 Ryder Cup, securing two victories. They first triumphed over Scheffler and Burns with a score of 4 and 3 in the Friday morning foursomes. Then, in the Saturday morning foursomes, they defeated Cantlay and Schauffele with a score of 2 and 1.

Ranked at No. 16 in the Official World Golf Ranking, Hatton stands as the second-highest-ranked LIV golfer. On the other hand, Rahm holds the impressive position of No. 3.

Throughout his career on the PGA Tour, Hatton has accumulated on-course earnings of nearly $22 million. He embarked on his professional journey in 2011.
