Tommy Fleetwood and Tyrell Hatton respond to LIV Golf approaches

Both Tommy Fleetwood and Tyrell Hatton have been linked with a move to LIV Golf during this week’s Dubai Desert Classic, and both have now broken their silence.

Tommy Fleetwood and Tyrell Hatton have downplayed the possibility of joining their Ryder Cup teammate, Jon Rahm, at LIV Golf.

Despite rumors that both Fleetwood and Hatton were being considered for the breakaway league’s roster for 2024, Fleetwood declined the offer, leading LIV bosses to shift their focus to Hatton.

In response to the speculation, Fleetwood confirmed that he had indeed received an offer to join LIV Golf, but emphasized that players have been approached by the league for quite some time. He acknowledged that while some players may choose to join, others may opt not to.

And at some point, we will either all participate together or we will not. Like everyone else, I will wait to find out. As a professional golfer and someone who is still pursuing my childhood dreams, I will continue to strive to be the best golfer I can be.

Until I decide that I have had enough or choose to retire, I will always prioritize what I believe is best for my golf game. Currently, that is exactly what I am doing. Who knows if this will change in the future. But for now, that is where I believe I should be.

Hatton also discussed the LIV Golf offer while competing at Emirates Golf Club, but he did acknowledge the possibility of circumstances changing.

“I have had conversations with several people,” Hatton stated. “I think that is a common occurrence in golf at the moment.” Despite these conversations, it seems that for now, Hatton has decided to remain loyal to the DP World Tour and PGA Tour.

When asked if his commitment to playing in the PGA Tour and DP World Tour meant that he would not be leaving the two circuits, he responded, “As of right now, yes.” Following Rahm’s recent high-profile move, it seemed that LIV was prepared to welcome more big names for the 2024 season.

However, with the season opener in Mexico just a couple of weeks away, no one has followed in Rahm’s footsteps yet, and he has yet to officially announce his team. Multiple reports have suggested that Rahm’s franchise will be named ‘Legion XIII’.

In terms of teammates, there are rumors that recently promoted star Kieran Vincent will be joining Rahm, along with amateur star Caleb Surratt. Rahm himself will undoubtedly be eager to finalize his team before the upcoming trip to Mayakoba.
