LIV Golf pro Pat Perez and his wife, Ashley, had been one of the most colorful couples in golf, but appear to be headed for a split.
Ashley Perez initiated divorce proceedings in Maricopa County (Ariz.) Superior Court in November, according to an initial report by the website Bro Bible.
The website stumbled upon the divorce filing when it noticed that both Ashley and her spouse had deleted pictures of each other from their individual Instagram accounts. However, a few older photographs of the couple still exist on Ashley’s page.
Within a week of the filing, Pat Perez, aged 47, was officially served with the divorce papers.
The couple has two children in common.
It is important to note that the divorce has not been officially concluded at this time.
In 2022, Ashley Perez strongly criticized those who opposed Pat’s decision to leave the PGA Tour for LIV Golf.
In a video on Instagram Live, Ashley Perez made it clear that any negative comments about Pat joining the LIV Tour would not be tolerated. She stated, “If anyone dares to say anything negative about Pat’s move to the LIV Tour, you will be immediately blocked.”
She further emphasized that a significant number of people, possibly around 200 or even 300, had already been blocked for such comments. Ashley Perez made it clear that once blocked, individuals would never be allowed back in. However, she expressed her love and appreciation for her followers, as long as they refrain from expressing the same kind of negativity she dislikes. She firmly stated, “I don’t want it, I don’t need it, I will not accept it, and I will not allow it in my world, ever.”
Ashley Perez concluded her message by stating that if anyone feels the urge to say something negative, they should simply delete her from their page. She assured them that she wouldn’t miss them. Additionally, she expressed her excitement for the new tour, confidently stating that it would be truly iconic.
Ashley Perez, in a later instance, made a critical remark about a wine trip taken by PGA Tour professionals Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele with their wives, expressing that it did not appear enjoyable in any way. She even added “zzz’s” to emphasize her point.
Recently, it has been reported that Ashley commented on Instagram expressing her desire to witness Rory McIlroy being punched in the face during the Ryder Cup dispute between the European golfer and Cantlay’s caddie, Joe LaCava.
However, she later decided to delete both of these comments.
In 2018, Pat Perez achieved a remarkable ranking of 16th in the world.
