LIV GOLF STAR ARRESTED FOR DRIVING WHILE IMPAIRED.

LIV Golf star Harold Varner III was arrested in North Carolina on Thursday night for driving while impaired.

Varner III, 33, was arrested at around 7.30pm ET on Thursday night, according to Mecklenburg County Sheriff Office.

Before the 2024 season, the former LIV Golf champion—who was just traded from the Range Goats to Dustin Johnson’s 4 Aces—was pulled over in Uptown Charlotte and tested positive for alcohol with a BAC of.16.

Varner III was issued with a $500 bond, which he posted on Thursday night after being taken into custody.

The World No.229 will next appear in court on January 19 at 9am, two weeks before the start of the 2024 LIV Golf League season.

Varner III was previously pulled over in Mecklenburg County for speeding back in April 2021.

Back then he was reportedly driving at 54mph in a 45mph speed zone.

Varner III has only won one LIV competition, which was the 2023 LIV Golf Washington event.

Varner III had only won twice in his career, at the 2022 Saudi International and the 2016 Australian PGA Championship.

Prior to competing in the inaugural season of the Saudi-backed LIV Golf circuit in 2021, Varner III spent nine seasons as a player on the PGA Tour.

He never had a PGA Tour victory.

It is believed that Varner III turned down a signing bonus of about $15 million to join LIV Golf and quit the PGA Tour.

Varner III is wed to Amanda Varner; the two of them have a son who is two years old.
