“What I could see is LIV integrating into the signature series on the PGA Tour in some capacity”.
The PGA Tour and PIF merger continues to be a hot topic in the golf scene, especially given that it is difficult to predict what the future holds and whether the partnership will be successful. Bryson DeChambeau, a well-known LIV golfer, expressed his opinion on the merger in an interview on the Rick Shiels Golf Show.
Bryson believes this must all be good for golf. That’s what you should focus on.
“I think at some point the game has to go right, and I’ve said that since day one when we talked about it, and I talked to Jay about it a lot and I said to myself, ‘Everything has to go well.’ Termination for the benefit of the game doesn’t just apply to the PGA Tour or LIV.
The fans have to win here.” – DeChambeau said, quoted from golfmonthly.com!
Bryson DeChambeau on Integration
DeChambeau had an interesting suggestion that would be beneficial to PGA Tour leaders. He mentioned an integration that is sure to spark interest from golfers and fans alike.
Bryson believes he can bring together the team and individual aspects of the game to garner more attention. Additionally, golfers will benefit as well. “What I saw was LIV being integrated into the PGA Tour’s Signature Series, combining two championships into one, where the Signature Series has an individual component and the team has a team aspect.
So you have a team to play for. No matter what happens on the final day, the players who played really badly still matter, and that still matters in the team championship aspect of the tournament.
And then you guys have the individual side that’s still competing for that individual title the way it is currently. ”
Bryson believes the PGA Tour would greatly benefit from such a move. “I don’t see that as being a problem, I see it as being an additive rather than a negative,” he said.
“I know a lot of people don’t see that point of view but I think that’s a really solid solution to this whole problem.”
