TIGER WOODS GIVES VERDICT ON JON RAHM’S ALLEGED $300M LIV GOLF SWITCH

Tiger Woods has weighed in on reports that PGA Tour superstar Jon Rahm is being linked to a move to the lucrative LIV Golf League.

Tiger Woods admitted he would be surprised if rumors of Jon Rahm leaving the PGA Tour for LIV Golf were true.

There has once again been wild speculation about the Spaniard’s future after reports emerged that the 2023 Masters champion had agreed to an LIV contract.

Latest report provided by FlushingIt on X who suggested Rahm`s ‘deal’, worth a reported $300m, will run through to 2029.

If true, Rahm would surely be the highest-profile LIV Golf signing since the rival league launched in June 2022.

Another big reason why there are more rumors about Rahm right now is his retirement from the Woods and Rory McIlroy Indoor Golf League.

Rahm cited time constraints in his departure from TGL, but remained strangely silent about his own future on social media.

He has distanced himself from joining LIV in the past, going so far as to “laugh” when people associate him with joining.

Woods, 47, was asked about Rahm’s future after playing the second round of the Hero World Challenge, his return to the PGA Tour.

He told reporters: “I would certainly be surprised if that were the case, but as you said, there have been so many different changes, not just in the last 48 hours, but in the last few weeks.

“Things have changed and will continue to change. We have deadlines coming up, there are a lot of moving parts, things are happening very quickly, because today is December.

A reporter said to Woods: “You said you weren’t surprised?”

The 15-time major champion continued: “Right, nothing really surprised me other than the fact that so many different things happen so quickly.”

“This is one of the things we’ve all been working on as player directors. But everything is time sensitive right now. We’re working around the clock to figure that out.”

The comments during this crisis are based on the framework agreement between the PGA Tour and PIF announced on June 6th.

Is a clear reference to Woods, who has already spoken of his surprise and dissatisfaction with the deal.

Before teeing off in the Bahamas, he explained how this led him to join the PGA Tour’s policy committee.
